Exhibition Hall Manes (August 5 – September 9, 2009), Leica Gallery Prague (September 15 – November 15, 2009)
The exhibition of platinum-palladium prints took place in the Exhibition Hall Manes. It was very succesfull, so it was extended in the Leica Gallery Prague afterwards.
Robert Vano became renowned locally mainly for his male nudes. However, he is also a highly professional fashion photographer, and his output includes portraits, floral still lifes, landscapes and nudes. Such rich variety makes it difficult, indeed impossible, to unequivocally categorize his work. But he has a clear “signature style”, and with Robert Vano it is obvious that all his images were seen by the same eye, belong to the same family, emerge from a unique attitude, all built on far more than just perfectly crafted work.
The Exhibition Hall Mánes visited 23.000 people during Robert Vano’s retrospective exhibition. Two hundred exposed platinotypes formed the basis for this book The Platinum Collection, which has been available in the Leica Gallery Prague.
