Jizerska 50 ready to start

Exhibition JIZERSKA 50 | VISIONS OF SIX should have opened on Thursday January 14th, just one month before the start of the 54th Jizerska 50. However, due to the Corona-related restrictions the opening will have to be postponed. Nevertheless, we have prepared it for you and we look forward to presenting it to the public soon. We open again on December 3rd

Since December 3rd we have been open. There is a new exhibition waiting for visitors in the gallery. Come and enjoy the project AMONG US PEOPLE, which recalls to 90th anniversary of birth of  photographer Milon Novotny.

PARIS, ETC…

You can see the exhibition called “Paris, etc.” made by Michael W. Pospisil since May 11th in our café. It is a part of a wider project “Prague, Paris, etc…” presented at the same time in the French Institute Prague. The exhibition will be held up to September 7th, 2020.

MY FATHER ANTONIN KRATOCHVIL

Antonín Kratochvíl (born 12. 4. 1947 in Lovosice) is a portrait and war reportage photographer who gained international recognition with his black and white photography style that continues to inspire new generations of artists all around the world – a style based in contrasts, light and shadow play and decomposition. Amongst his other awards, he won the World Press Photo four times and is amongst the one hundred most influential figures of world photography according to the American Photo journal.

MY FATHER ANTONIN KRATOCHVIL

Amongst his other awards, he won the World Press Photo four times and is amongst the one hundred most influential figures of world photography according to the American Photo journal.

Antonín Kratochvíl emigrated from Czechoslovakia in 1967 and first met his at the time of leaving unborn son Michael after nineteen long years. It is the journey towards mending a father-son relationship that is the backbone of Andrea Sedláčková’s feature documentary “My Father Antonín Kratochvíl”. Antonín and Michael, now also a photographer, independently captured their journey throughout the documentary shoot and they present the final work at a joint exhibition.

Milota Havránková View from a window

Milota Havránková is an exceptional Slovak photographer and an experimenter. Her exhibition in Leica Gallery Prague focuses on the crystallising period of the 1960s and 1970s when almost all the key features and symbols of her later hybrid artwork appeared.

Christmas opening hours

During the Christmas holidays and at the end of the year, the gallery and the café’s opening hours will be as follows: December 23, 2019 – open, December 24–26, 2019 – closed, December 27–30, 2019 – normal opening hours, December 31, 2019 – January 5, 2020 – closed.
